Two brothers, Babul Ravidas and Shyamal Ravidas were forcibly brought in the office of the B. R. Memorial School, Silchar in Assam by a crowd of about hundred people, where they were assaulted with the help of the police and eventually succumbed to their injuries. The incident happened on the 25th September, 2003 at about 9.00 a.m. The Commission recommended that the Government of Assam pay Rs. 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the two deceased.
