Dilip Rajbhar died in an encounter with police in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh on the 11th May, 2006. On consideration of the material on record and the reports, the Commission did not find the logic given by the police correct that it was a genuine encounter. Therefore, it was recommended that the Government of Uttar Pradesh pay monetary relief of rupees five lakhs to the next of kin of the deceased. A compliance report has also been
