Bhagat Ram was arrested on the 15th June, 2006 in a case u/s 308 of Indian Penal Code by the local police in district Kota, Rajasthan. He was produced before the Magistrate at Kota and remanded to judicial custody. On way to the jail, he requested the police personnel to stop the vehicle so that he could ease himself. They stopped the vehicle. However, after passing urine, he ran towards a truck instead and jumped
in front of it. He sustained crush injuries and succumbed to death.
