S hri Ambuj Sharma, 1983 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu Cadre, joined the National Human Rights Commission as Secretary General on the 5th August, 2017. He is the 14th Secretary General
of the Commission. He has triple masters in Geology, Rural Social Development and Business Administration. Before taking over as Secretary General, NHRC he worked in various departments, including Home, Industries etc. of the Central and State governments.
