The Commission bid farewell to its Secretary General, Shri P.S.S. Thomas on 15 December 2004, following the acceptance by the Government of his request for voluntary retirement. Shri Thomas, an IAS Officer of the Karnataka cadre (1969 Batch) had assumed the position of Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission on 1 July 2003.
The new Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission will be Shri Nirmal Singh, IAS of the Tamil Nadu Cadre.
