Simanchal Dash, Constable, NHRC gets President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service


Shri Simanchal Dash, Constable, Investigation Division, NHRC was awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of the Independence Day, 2014. He joined the NHRC in 1995 and assisted the Inquiry Officers in conducting various enquiries related to inaction by District Administration, police excesses during Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh and was also involved with the team investigating Salwa Judum operations in the State. He was also part of the team which went to Odisha to enquire about the riots against Christians and violation of human rights of SC community in Village Mirchipur of District Hissar, Haryana. Prior to the NHRC, he served in the Border Security Force from 1990 to 1995 and was posted into the hostile areas of Indo-Pak Border in Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir and was recognized for his commendable services by his seniors.
