Smt. Kanwaljit Deol joined as Director General (Investigation) in the Commission on 11th December, 2012. She is a 1977 batch IPS officer of the AGMU Cadre. Prior to her joining, she was Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi. She has held various key positions in her Cadre States and also occupied the position of Director General of Police, Arunachal Pradesh. She has received several medals and awards including President's Police Medal for distinguished service. She also has a number of publications to her credit including a book published by the Penguin titled "101 Tips to Survive the City".
