Bravery show risking life of students in Tamil Nadu

Media carried reports on the 28th July alleging that on the 16th July, an elementary municipal school at Keezhperumpakkam in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu organized an event of bravery show in which a motor cyclist drove over the outstretched hands of students aged about 10 years. The motor cyclist also drove over a wooden plank placed on a girl lying on the floor. Taking suo motu cognizance of the reports, the Commission issued a notice to the Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu, and called for a factual report observing that the contents of the media reports, if true, raise serious issue of violation of human rights of the students.
