The lives of some child patients scheduled to undergo switch arterial surgery by Dr. Vishoi of AIIMS, Delhi were in danger as the concerned doctor was suspended according to media reports carried on the 23rd March. The Commission took suo motu cognizance of these reports and issued a notice to the Director, AIIMS to send a factual report to the Commission within two weeks. The Commission also directed its Director General (Investigation) to contact the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi to take appropriate measures on a priority basis.
