Mujahid Ali died in police custody on 06.11.1998 at Madhubani, Bihar. The Commission found that he was arrested on 26.10.1998, illegally detained and tortured in custody and denied proper medical attention, which led to his death. The Commission recommended that the Bihar Government give monetary relief of three lakh rupees to the next of his kin.
