Training Programmes on Human Rights approved
In the first phase, the Commission has approved seven training programmes on human rights which will be conducted in 2008-2009. Four proposals from State Administrative Training Institute and three proposals from NGOs were approved by the Commission. The institutions which will be conducting these training programmes are-Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration & Rural Development; Administrative Training Institute, Nagaland; Assam Administrative Staff College; Institute of Management in Government, Kerala; Tanveer Mahila Prashikshan Evam
Shikshan Sansthan, Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh Creative Education and Development Society, Etah, Uttar Pradesh; and Akshaya Rehabilitation Trust, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. A budget of Rs. 6,56,300 was approved by the Commission for these training programmes.
The Commission also approved the proposal of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu for the preparation of Training Module and Manual on Human Rights for the youth. An amount of three lakh rupees was approved as financial assistance for the purpose.
