Two students died and two other rendered critical after consuming food at an Ashramshala in Pune

The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of a media report alleging that two adivasi students died and the condition of the two others became critical after consuming food at an Ashramshala for Adivasi children in Pune. The incident happened at Kolwadi village in Junnar Taluka on the 23rd December, 2012.
The Commission has observed that the contents of press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights of the victims. It has issued notices to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Pune, Maharashtra calling for reports within four weeks.
The media report was forwarded by a human rights activist.
