In connection with their visit to India to undertake an advocacy mission to discuss the AIDS response and necessary steps forward, UN Secretary General Special Envoy for AIDS (Asia & the Pacific) J.V.R. Prasada Rao and Regional Director, UNAIDS Bangkok Steve Kraus met the Chairperson, Members and senior officers of the Commission in New Delhi on the 20th February, 2015. The visiting delegation discussed and explored the possibility of the NHRC lending support to accelerated country level action to ensure services and rights of concerned population. The visiting delegation was given a brief insight into the jurisdiction, work and functioning of the Commission.
