The Uttar Pradesh Government complied with the Commission's recommendations and sent a report along with the proof of payment of Rs. 5 lakhs made to the next of the kin of one Nusrat who was killed in a fake encounter by police in Ghaziabad on the 22nd August, 2004. The Commission on the 5th May, 2010 considered the compliance report and closed the matter. Earlier, the Commission had recommended that the Uttar Pradesh Government pay monetary relief of the said amount to the next of the kin of the deceased.
