Woman dies; baby critical after falling from train: NHRC issues notice to SSsP, Ghaziabad and GRP.

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that a woman died and her infant daughter was seriously injured when she was allegedly pushed off a train near Link Road, Ghaziabad on the 13th May, 2013.
The Commission has observed that the contents of the press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights and safety of women traveling in trains. Notices have been issued to the SSP, Ghaziabad and SSP, Government Railway Police, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, calling for a reports within four weeks.
According to the media report, the police is yet to establish the reason behind her fall. The Link Road police reached the spot on some information. The woman was rushed to a local hospital from where she was referred to the GTB Hospital in Delhi, where she was declared dead. Her baby is, reported to be still critical.
