Workshops for the sensitization of Jail Superintendents of Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka on 'Human Rights of prisoners' were conducted at Shimla on 16 September 2004 and on 16 October in Bangalore respectively. The Commission's Special Rapporteur, Shri Chaman Lal conducted the daylong workshops. The workshop at Shimla was inaugurated by Shri L.R. Verma, Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University and the one in Bangalore by Justice Shri P. Viswanatha Shetty, Judge, High Court of Karnataka.
