Domestic Training

These programmes are organized through the Central/State institutions like Administrative Training Institutes, Police Training Institutes, SHRCs, Judicial Training Institutions, NGOs, Universities and Colleges etc. These training programmes are properly monitored by the NHRC officials and the institutions are asked to submit a detailed report of the programmes highlighting its impact. Usually, these are one to three days’ programmes, however, in exceptional circumstances and upon the request of the concerned institutions, longer duration of programmes can also be allowed subject to the approval by competent authority. Following are the basic details regarding these training programmes:

One-day Programmes (Basic Training Programme)

These programmes are generally for the purpose of basic human rights awareness for the target group of people who were not earlier sufficiently exposed to human rights issues.

Two-day Programmes (Advance Training Programme)

These are allowed where the objective is to create a greater focus on a particular target group and the subjects covered to be dealt in greater detail. The participants of these programmes are expected to be having some initial basic human rights awareness. These are usually on the specific themes of human rights on which detailed interactive sessions are required to convey the specialized knowledge about the topics covered to the participants

Three-day Programmes (Training of Trainers)

In these programmes the sessions are conducted on various themes of the human rights providing fundamental understanding of various human rights aspects. These programmes give opportunity to participants to deliberate in detail about the human rights issues and concerns while getting sensitized about the issues of vulnerable sections of Society.

Application process and funding rules

The institutions interested in imparting the human right values among the various sections of the society may apply for organizing the collaborative training programme in the prescribed format as mentioned below. The institutions must also follow the guidelines as mentioned below:
