• Involvement with Govt. of India planning and review processes: Served as member on Govt. of India committees on child rights issues, National Plan of Action for Children (2005), National Policy for Children, Advisory Group and Drafting Committee (2008-12); Child Rights Expert on Ministry of Women and Child Development Working Committee: 10th, 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans. Member, National Coordinating Group on Child Rights (2007 - ), Member, Govt. of India High-Powered Committee for UN CRC reporting 2007 – 2010;
Served as: Member Central Social Audit Committee (JJ Act), & Advisory Group on Missing Children (Track Child/Khoya-Paya), Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt of India. Regular expert invitee to consultations of National Human Rights Commission, Member, LBS Academy working group for development of a child rights training component in IAS pre-service/in-service training.
• Served with NHRC as NGO liaison for S.Asia Initiative for Ending Violence Against Children(SAIEVAC)/SAARC apex body, and as knowledge partner on child rights/child marriage (2017/2018), and ongoing goodwill advocacy contact; Advocated recognition of child nutrition rights as a national human rights concern. • Independent/Civil Society leadership: Initiated, developed, led and coordinated independent country review and national reporting processes for citizens’ collective reports on UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) from 2003-12, Universal Periodic Review of India’s human rights action (2011 and 2015), National Policy for Children (2004 and 2010), National Plans of Action for Children (2003/04 and 2014/15),National Plan proposals for child protection against risk in disaster and emergency situations (2015 - ). Volunteer Coordinator of National Child Rights Coalition, and Co-Convenor, Coalition to End Child Marriage in India.
