Police Medal for NHRC official

Shri K. Harischandra Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police, NHRC was selected for the award of a Police Medal for Meritorious Service on Independence Day. He has earned this distinction by dint of his hard work, loyalty and devotion of duty.

Before being the staff of NHRC, Shri Rao was an officer of the Border Security Force; he had joined the Special Protection Group in 1989. Immediately before joining the Commission, he was the “Personal Security Officer” to the then Prime Minister.
