Training Programme for NGOs on Fact Finding Techniques

A three-day training programme for NGOs on "Facts finding techniques" was conducted at Kolkata from 16 - 18 July 2004. This programme supported by the Commission was organized by the Indian Social Institute, Delhi with the help of local Kolkata based NGO 'SEVAC'. There were 39 NGO participants from the States of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Orissa. This training initiative was to promote better understanding and knowledge on human rights culture, amongst the NGOs and also to enhance their professional competence in the techniques of investigation, interviewing and report writing skills to develop a more victim centered/oriented approach.
