National Moot Court Competition on Human Rights

Justice Shri K.G. Balakrishnan, Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission inaugurated a three day National Moot Court Competition on Human Rights at the Law Centre - 1, University of Delhi on the 20th February, 2015. It was jointly organised by the NHRC and the Law Centre - 1 of the University for the third consecutive year. In all, 36 teams, representing various institutions from different parts of the country, participated in the event. Broadly, the propositions taken up by the participants during the Moot Court centered around the Right to Education under Article 21A of the Constitution.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Balakrishnan expressed the hope that Moot Court will give the participants an opportunity for an insight into human rights issues and laws and encourage them to undertake further study into the subject. Senior NHRC Officers, including Shri Rajesh Kishore, Secretary General, Shri J.S. Kochher, JS (T&R) and Dr. S.K. Jain, Senior Research Officer were present.
