Assam :
NHRC and the Assam State Human Rights Commission (ASHRC) conducted a 5-day training programme for 50 Deputy Superintendent probationers of the Assam Police at the Police Training College, Dergaon in Assam from 31st May to 4th June 2004.
Mr. Justice S.N.Phukan, Chairperson, Assam State Human Rights Commission, inaugurated the programme. The training was conducted by Shri A. Chakravarti, Dir. Training and Shri K.K. Arora, Dy. S.P. from NHRC and Shri K.P. Ghosh, ACP (Training) PTC, Barrackpore, West Bengal.
Punjab/Rajasthan:
The NHRC has been assisting the State Human Rights Commissions in strengthening their complaints handling system as well as capacity building of staff members. On the request made by the Punjab State Human Rights Commission (PSHRC) and Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC), the NHRC shared its Computer Software Programme i.e. Complaint Management System (CMS) used for registering and processing complaints received from the public.
During the period February to June 2004, Shri Shashi Kant Sharma, SSA and Shri Vikas Agrawal, SA visited Amritsar and Jaipur to customize and implement the CMS as per State Commission's requirements.
