NHRC Debate competition for Para- Military Forces

he Central Industrial Security Force, CISF lifted the overall best team rolling trophy winning the final round of All India Inter-Para-Military Forces' debate competition in Hindi and English, organized by the National Human Rights Commission in collaboration with the Sashastra Seema Bal, SSB in New Delhi on the 14th September, 2017. The topic of the debate competition was: "There is no National Security without respect for Human Rights".
Among the individual honours, the first prize for debate in Hindi went to Assistant Sub Inspector, R.P. Tripathy, BSF, and in English to Assistant Commandant, Kanishk Chaudhary, SSB. The second prize in Hindi went to Umesh Kumar Yadav, Rifle Man, Assam Rifles, and in English to Sub Inspector, Vivek Kumar, CISF. The third prize in Hindi went to Sub Inspector, Laxmikant Sharma, CISF and in English to Deputy Commandant, Anil Kumar Dubey, CISF. Consolation prize in Hindi went to Sub Inspector, Ashutosh Kumar, CISF, and in English to Constable, Sumit, SSB.
The winners were decided by a three member panel of jury headed by Mr. Justice H.L. Dattu, Chairperson, NHRC, comprising Dr. S. N. Mohanty, former Secretary General, NHRC, and Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Vajpayee, Registrar, National Law University, Delhi.
Congratulating the winners of the Debate Competition, Justice Dattu said that the Commission is of the firm view that even though threats to national and international security are several and varied, the fundamental rationale, underlying all our efforts, to ensure security must continue to protect human rights and democracy.
