NHRC DIG (Investigation) Mrs Mamta Singh awarded President's Police Medal

New Delhi, januray 25th , 2012

Mrs Mamta Singh, DIG (Investigation), NHRC has been awarded President’s Police Medal for meritorious services on the eve of Republic Day. She is a1996 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre. She has been instrumental in several investigations carried out by the Investigation Division of the NHRC since joining it in November, 2005.

Mrs Singh is particularly credited with her probes on human rights violations in Nandigram violence in West Bengal, Salwa Judum and Naxalsim related activities in Chattisgarh and more recent and testing job of investigating human rights violations during operation ‘Anaconda’ by CRPF in Saranda forests of Jharkhand among others.

She has also been one of the members of the drafting committee on ‘ National Policy on Prison Reforms and Correctional Administration’ constituted by the Union Home Ministry.
