NHRC gets new Director General (Investigation)
Shri Y.N. Srivastava has taken over as the new Director General (Investigation) in the National Human Rights Commission on 4 August 2000.
Shri Srivastava was earlier the Additional Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force. He succeeds Shri D.R. Karthikeyan, who had joined the Commission on 15 June 1998.
Shri Srivastava, a 1966 Batch IPS officer of the Bihar Cadre, has also served as Inspector General of Police (Administration) in the National Security Guard, Director Prosecution, Special Secretary (Home) and Inspector General, Security. In addition, he has served as DIG, Bihar Military Police, DIG, CID and also as DIG Special Branch, Government of Bihar.
Before joining service, Shri Srivastava taught Mathematics in Allahabad University.
