NHRC gets new Director General (Investigation)



Shri Y.N. Srivastava has taken over as the new Director General (Investigation) in the National Human Rights Commission on 4 August 2000.

Shri Srivastava was earlier the Additional Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force. He succeeds Shri D.R. Karthikeyan, who had joined the Commission since 15 June 1998.

Shri Srivastava, a 1966 Batch IPS officer of the Bihar Cadre, has also served as Inspector General of Police (Administration) in National Security Guard, Director Prosecution, Special Secretary (Home) and Inspector General, Security. Besides, he was DIG, Bihar Military Police, DIG, CID and also as DIG Special Branch in the Bihar Government.

Before joining service, Shri Srivastava taught Mathematics in the Allahabad University.
