NHRC notice to Indian Overseas Affairs Ministry on getting the dead body of an Indian worker from Riyadh

The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Secretary, the Union Ministry of Indian Overseas Affairs, on a complaint alleging that even after nineteen days, the dead body of an Indian worker, who died in Riyadh, has not been given to his family for the last rites back home. He has been asked to submit a report in the matter within four weeks.
The complaint has been filed by Mrs. Draupdi Devi, wife of deceased Laxminarayan Sharma of District Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. She has alleged that that her husband was working as a driver in Masco Mohammad Ali Al Sohlam Company Ltd., Jijan (K.S.A), head office in Riyad since last five months. He died on the 14th September,2012. Despite several attempts no information or help is being to the family to get her husbands body to perform the last rites.
