Two lakh rupees monetary relief in a case of death in police custody<br> Case No.819/1/04-05<br> <br>

T.K. Eswaraiah died on 28.01.2005 in police custody at Police Station, Itikalapalli, Andhra Pradesh. The deceased had seven ante-mortem injuries and died due to coronary insufficiency. The Commission found that there were no proper entries in police record for calling Eswaraiah to the Police Station for interrogation and he was denied medical treatment for the injuries which led to his death. The Commission recommended that the Andhra Pradesh Government give monetary relief of two lakh rupees to the next of his kin.
