The National Human Rights Commission is organizing a one-and-a-half days National Conference towards Third Universal Periodic Review on 12 and 13 August 2016 in the Multipurpose Hall of Kamladevi Block at India International Centre, 40, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi – 110 003.

The NHRC will organize its Western Region Consultation towards Third Universal Periodic Review in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai at their premises on 23 and 24 June 2016.
The States and Union Territories covered will be – Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

[Summer Internship Programme on human rights issues for University/College students – 23 May, 2016 to 21 June, 2016]

The NHRC is organizing 1½ days Southern Region Consultation Towards Third Universal Periodic Review on 12-13 May 2016 in collaboration with the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru at their premises.
This Consultation will cover the States and Union Territories of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.

Open Hearing/Camp Sitting of the Commission at Patna, Bihar from 21 to 23 April, 2016 to consider the pending cases and to discuss important human rights issues, pertaining to the state of Bihar followed by meetings with the NGOs and the Chief Secretary, DGP and Senior Civil and Police Officers of the State.

A public hearing scheduled to be held on 9 March, 2016 the problems and grievances of scheduled castes of the state of Bihar and the camp sitting of the Commission from 10 to 11 Mar 2016 to be held at Patna stands postponed. Fresh dates shall be announced shortly.

The National Human Rights Commission will be organizing workshop on Bonded Labour on 12 January 2016 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in collaboration with respective State Government.

The Commission has constituted a committee for amendments to Prison Act 1894. Shri Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Govt. of Punjab and Chairman of the Committee has decided that the second meeting will be held on 21 December, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Conference room of NHRC at Room No. 508, Manav Adhikar Bhawan, C Block, GPO Complex, INA, New Delhi-110023.

The workshop on Bonded Labour being organized under the Chairmanship of Justice Shri D. Murugesan, Hon'ble Member at Jodhpur, Rajasthan on 30/09/2015 for Rajasthan state HAS BEEN SHIFTED TO JAIPUR FROM JODHPUR.

Regional Level Workshop on Bonded Labour being organized under the Chairmanship of Justice Shri D. Murugesan, Hon'ble Member at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on 03/09/2015 for Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh states HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED FOR 11/09/2015. The place of the workshop has also been changed from Meerut to Lucknow.

Meeting of the States Secretaries on Mental Health, scheduled to be held on 11 Aug 2015 at India International Centre, Multipurpose Hall, 40 Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi 110 003 HAS BEEN POSTPONED by the Commission due to unavoidable circumstances. Inconveience caused is deeply regretted.

The Camp Sitting of the Single Bench of the Commission at Ranchi, Jharkhand from 30th July, 2015 to 1st August, 2015 has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The fresh dates for holding the Camp Sitting at Ranchi would be intimated in due course.
